"My influences? Art-Rock, Progressive-Punk, Iggy Pop.. think Captain Beefheart having a mind-meld with T-Rex at a Black Sabbath on a Led Zeppelin!" Bad Overman

PERFORMANCE:

"For years I played countless impromptu gigs around the GTA by walking into bars with a guitar and improvising instrumental accompaniment to sound systems. I loved playing in bars of different ethnic cultures and learning to jam along to music from every corner or the world, but also played in skid row bars with classic rock juke boxes. I wasn’t bad at making my own gigs like this, got lots of free beer from customers, and am most proud that not once was I ever asked to leave! It’s quite remarkable how you can be jamming on a cheap classical guitar along to soft and gentle Vietnamese love ballads, for example, using riffs and licks heard in heavy metal, jazz, blues, atonal fusion and anything under the sun, and still have people loving it and buying you beer! It’s a very unstable life however, full of strange temptations and inevitable experiences with bad habits which slowly test the limits of your lucky charms. Glad I survived(barely), even if it meant becoming reborn into married family life and domestication." Bad Overman
CREATIVE PROCESS:

"From cultural sectors promoted as subversive, Iâve drawn powerful and sublime music exposing hidden realities which leave one to witness in awe the extent wherein the world is controlled and conditioned. In the words of William Burroughs "the money machine eats quality, and shits quantity". From the literary to the mathematical, music is the dominant language, the one feared most by the controllers, as it draws and enlightens the controlled. Jimi Hendrix said that "Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.", but this doesn't occur while it is manipulated by a commercial system which has been systematically degraded, and exists only in servitude and obedience to a military industrial despotism dictating under threat, the worship of a culture of violence devoid of honoured objectivism. If music was allowed to freely communicate, our worlds would exist in the limitless realms of our cosmic imaginings, and this creative power would make gods of us all, as we truly exist and are."
